PROJECT BOOYAH GOLD COAST

We had the pleasure of kitting out 9 young men for their graduation as part of Project Booyah Gold Coast as part of completing their RESPECT Mentoring Programme.

The Project Booyah Organisation provides a mentoring program with an emphasis on empowering the disconnected youth and enhancing their life skills and become better members of their community. The Project Booyah team consists of a group of mentors who work with the young lads over a 16 weeklong program to complete a series of educational and adventure-based learning and continue to offer support over the next 18 months to ensure they are given the greatest opportunity to succeed.

The Tarocash team at Loganholme in Queensland helped to get the boys into some sharp suits for the big day! The boys got the full experience complete with the Tarocash Tailoring service to ensure they all got their perfect fit and will look the part for their graduation.

The 16-week programme that the boys took part in is a structured RESPECT mentoring based program that includes learning employable skill sets, taking part in adventure-based activities and being educated on society-based skills such as encouraging family, community and culture connections.

The boys visited the store for their final fitting, for some, it was the first time to be suited and booted from head to toe! We loved being part of the experience and seeing the team leaders share the pride in how much the boys achieved. It was a fun morning for everyone, our Loganholme store team made some great connections with the boys from their first visit to their final fitting, and were grateful to get to listen to the boys’ stories about the program.

Since they got suited up 2 weeks ago, the Project Booyah boys successfully completed their RESPECT mentoring Programme and attended their graduation as a final completion of the project. – pictured here being awarded project completion.

'The last 6 months have flown by and we can’t believe we are at the end of the program already. Each and every one of these young men have grown into inspiring members of our community and it has been an absolute honour to be a part of their journey. We are so proud of their commitment and determination in overcoming the hurdles and challenges they have been faced with both in life and throughout their time with us at Booyah. We know they will leave here with a new set of goals, skills and courage to take on whatever life throws at them'

- Natasha Callard, Youth Support Officer at Project Booyah Gold Coast.

Well done boys, we loved kitting you out and learning all about the amazing Project Booyah Programme – we hope you all had the best time at your Graduation!
